When my 3 year old, previously an almost perfect sleeper, suddenly started looking scared to go to sleep and woke up many times each night, I knew something needed to change. I happened to see a friend comment about Laura on her Facebook page. I contacted Laura, and within days my son was back getting the healthy, happy sleep he needs. She took all the various aspects of his life into account, and was able to prescribe the perfect sleeping plan. My son is 2.5 and he started having sleep problems about 2 months ago. He was waking up too early, waking up during the night, having trouble falling asleep, and skipping his naps–pretty much everything that can go wrong! It got progressively worse, and I was at my wits’ end. I’ve read almost every sleep book out there and I couldn’t figure out what we were doing wrong. Someone told me about the SleepBuddy Light, which I tried with some success. Then, when I learned that Laura, who invented the light, was a sleep consultant, I contacted her immediately. Laura was, in a word, amazing. She was calm and helpful. She gave me a few tips to try for free, but I could tell that we still had more work to do. I went ahead and purchased a package with the thought that if it didn’t work, at least I had someone else thinking about my sleep problems, too. We got started right away with a phone conversation and a customized sleep plan, and she told me to report to her via text each day and she would give me instructions.
It was an enormous relief to have her advice. The next few days had some early mornings, but I awoke each day feeling optimistic and supported, knowing that I would let her know what was going on and she would tell me what to do. I could tell that she’d had a lot of experience in this area (she has five children, after all!), and she also had a lot of very good information.
Well, within four days, we experienced what I would have to call a resounding success. My son began sleeping 2-2.5 hours every day for his nap, and about 7pm-7am every night. His mood was better, and I was calmer and much happier! Part of why we had such fast success was that we had good habits already in place (He could fall asleep on his own, and we had routines in place, and no problems with food or potty training). But it also was fast because she knew what she was doing and I knew that I could trust her–so I did everything she told me!
The support she offers lasts at least two weeks, so there is plenty of time to work out any problems, and I know she would offer extensions, as well as follow up support, if someone continued to need her advice. She obviously does this work because she cares so much about children and mothers and families. She is compassionate and flexible, and also knows what we can expect from children.
I have been telling everyone I know about my experience with Laura. Not only did we have success with my son’s sleep habits, but I am also so grateful to have found her as a resource for my friends and for the future–because the sleep journey is never really over! I’ve told my husband several times that I would happily have paid her ten times as much as she charged in order to have her support and expertise in this trying time of motherhood. I’ve also said many times that hiring her was probably the best money I’ve spent in at least the last five years. I cannot emphasize how much of a bargain her help was.
Getting on track with sleep isn’t easy, and it isn’t always fast, but this is a woman and a method that you can trust. Her advice is based on information that is scientifically proven (See Dr. Marc Weissbluth’s research), and her approach is very nurturing–You will feel as though she is taking care of you, too!

Working with Laura was a true blessing being a first time mom. When my son turned 6 months and his sleep pattern changed I was at a loss and truly losing sleep over it due to hourly wake-up screams from my son. Laura helped guide me through a baby’s biological clock and really helped me understand babies. She supported and encouraged us when we finally did the CIO method.
My son Dominic was THE best sleeper until about 9 months…then we started constant battles of NO daytime sleep and very interrupted night time sleep. A very crabby but cute little boy was the result. After continuous double ear infections -which we assumed was the culprit- we had tubes put in his ears. Nothing changed in the sleep department. She has given me sleep suggestions that were realistic approaches to try, and she helped me to understand the reasoning behind her methods. I cannot say enough good things about Laura at Healthy Happy Sleep. Sleep deprivation has been quite difficult for me. By the time our little guy hit ten months, I was exhausted and frustrated. When I hired Laura, I thought she’d chat with me a bit, learn a little about our family, draw up a plan and then be on her merry way. I couldn’t have been more wrong. She managed to pick up on the tiniest thing our son was doing and suggested I have his ears checked for infection. As a mother of four children, I thought that I had basically figured out how to get my babies sleeping through the night. Our family was fortunate enough to have Laura share her expertise with us during a time when our previously well napping 19 month old started protesting naps and being a little monster during the evenings. He would take one thirty-minute nap during the day, go to bed at 7:30pm and wake up at 6am. We assumed it was the start of the terrible two’s, but Laura immediately recognized it as an accumulation of sleep deprivation. He was overtired! I reached out to Laura when my daughter was 2.5 years and son was 6-7 months old. They were both horrible sleepers and we were really struggling. My daughter has always had issues with sleeping, from being able to fall asleep, waking up multiple times throughout the night or needing to have someone next to her throughout the night. My son was also developing poor sleeping habits, waking up at least 3-4 times a night! At this point, we knew we needed professional help.
I had some hesitations after the first few days of “sleep training” with Laura. I didn’t see much improvement and wasn’t sure if this was going to work.
